Dating back to 1909, Marda Loop was once the turnaround point for the city of Calgary’s Marda streetcar line. The electric trams are long gone, but Marda Loop remains a hub of urban activity and one of Calgary’s most popular residential communities.
The Marda Loop Communities Association was established on September 6th, 1957 to serve the residents of South Calgary during the massive postwar growth period of the 1950s.
Today, Marda Loop continues to grow and reinvent itself and our communities association now represents the citizens of South Calgary, Altadore, Garrison Woods, and River Park.
