MLCA Planning and Mobility December 2025 update
The role of the Marda Loop Communities Association (MLCA) Development Committee is to provide a conduit for the community to the City of Calgary. We receive notices of new development requests including requests for development permits and land use or zoning changes for Marda Loop, Altadore, Garrison Woods, South Calgary and River Park areas. We also get inquiries for information and receive comments and concerns from community members about the various developments. As a committee and working with our board, we respond to those either by letter, a phone call or meeting with the developer, the City and the residents.
We strive to consolidate the community feedback we receive and provide comments or concerns and suggestions for improvements for development permits to City planning department. There are many development requests and there can be many differing opinions on the various developments for our community. The City’s planning department takes all the comments and makes recommendations to the appointed board members of the Calgary Planning Commission and to the elected City Council.
