Presidents Message September 2026

Summers coming to an end, and school is back in.  It’s amazing how fast summer goes by.  The MLCA gardens look great, better every year.  Thank-you to the volunteers that contribute their time to maintaining them.

You may have noticed Swim Club registration up through the summer.  There are still spots available, just check the MLCA website.  We are now also posting registration for a number of fall programs with an October start, in-line with the Community Centre being fully open again.  We expect to have the MLCA Community Centre Hall Revitalization Project fully completed in October.

Preschool is back after a summer break and there remains space for new registrations, especially for afternoon times.  What a great opportunity to get your children prepared for Kindergarden and grade one.

The MLCA Board continues to have opportunities for individuals who want to contribute their time and energy.  We are looking for a Vice President as well as a Facilities Director and a Volunteer Director, and there are several opportunities for subcommittee involvement.  Just go to the MLCA website and express your interest.

Sponsorship and reemphasizing membership are key priorities and the MLCA board moves past the Hall Revitalization project.  Membership has never been a better deal, you gain access to many programs and events at a very reasonable cost.  Replenishing MLCA cash reserves is important so we can more quickly move on to the next project.  If you are interested in donating dollars to the MLCA you can do so through the MLCA website.
